The EBC R&D center is the central R&D unit of the corporation. The key activities of the center include extending of bearings durability and service life, development of new designs and design methods, implementation of new gauges and measurement methods, cooperation with other R&D centers in the bearing industry, carrying out certification tests, etc.

Fruitful research of our team owes much to a more than 70 year-experience gained under the R&D activities of the 1st State Bearing Plant, as well as to close cooperation with the leading technical universities in this country. Through years, we have accumulated a big stock of modern research and design technologies, of computation and analytical software. Every newly designed bearing is tested on the unique testing equipment and also on machine-tools of the EBC plants.

Nowadays, R&D specialists work on the following topics:
- Prolongation of service life of rolling contact bearings produced by EBC
- Development of novel bearing concept, computation and design methods
- Use of new materials for bearings and bearing assemblies
- Development and implementation of new measuring techniques, new gauges and new diagnostics techniques
- Carrying out certification tests of bearings
- Cooperation in the field of R&D with other centers for bearing life and service prolongation
- Development and publishing of R&D information, participation in public activities.

Total number of our personnel is 30 people where the core includes high-rank professionals of academic level featuring a number of scientific and technical publications including patents who’ve acquired their experience within different R&D centers and "MB" plant departments.
